Barnes & Noble drop the price of Nook tablet by 20% to compete with Amazon Kindle fire. This dropped the cost of the 16-gigabyte Nook Tablet by 20%, or $50, to a final total of $199. The eight gigabyte version received a $20 cut to a final price of $179 – same for the Nook Color, which dropped $20 to $149.

The 16-gigabyte Nook Tablet now equals the cost of Google’s eight-gigabyte Nexus 7 and Amazon’s eight-gigabyte Kindle Fire.
